Today I cleaned the mineral deposits from inside the swamp cooler on the Friary roof (then turned it on experiencing it's room vibrating strong wind) then watched more parts of the library DVD of the comical "Spanish for Everyone".

Then I went to the "Celebrate Cactus" Show and got a small potted Agave parryi (or Agave huachucaensis) and another potted Agave called "Sharkskin" that is a hybrid with info here: http://www.smgrowers.com/products/plants/plantdisplay.asp?plant_id=2874

"The Shark Skin Agave is a hybrid of the ferdinandii-regis form of Agave victoria-reginae (these two plants, once considered separate species have more recently been synonomized) crossed with of subspecies of Agave scabra that is now considered to be a subspecies of Agave asperrima. The common name Shark Skin was applied due to this plant's texture and color - some use this common name as a cultivar name (which is less of a mouthful than Agave x victoria-reginae x scabra)."

The Gardening Plan: Both Agave will be planted into the courtyard garden along with the planned rock garden to attract and increase the lizard population to eatup the cockroach population. The rocks will also channel human foot traffic and protect the new plants. More plants will be planted later because I wanted to "start small". I am also planning on moving the three large existing Agave-americanas replanting them further from the building walls to give them more space.

Then watched more Spanish via "Advanced Spanish: Building on the Basics", another funny library DVD by Standard Deviants. S and I have been studying Spanish together, I helping her review her Intermediate Spanish as I read out of "Spanish for Gringos" and "Spanish for Health Care Professionals".

It has been hot, gusty windy during the days and cold at night.

Look what I have been learning: http://www.studyspanish.com/vocab/games/plantsla-oral.htm
